INFERTILITY - PREGNANCY - POSTPARTUM - MOTHERHOOD SUPPORT

If becoming a mom is not what you expected…

And you’re wondering how the other women and moms are getting through this, you’re not alone. You might feel worn down, disconnected, or like you’re carrying more than anyone can see. You’re moving through your days, but something just feels off. And while it’s hard to name exactly what’s going on — you know you need more support.

Therapy for moms in Washington - especially those navigating infertility, pregnant or postpartum - isn’t always easy to find. And even if the support is available, talking about how hard this season can be? Still taboo…. but not around here.

Welcome to the Sisterhood. Come Just As You Are.

Therapy for Moms in Washington | Infertility, Pregnancy & Postpartum Support

Smiling woman in a soft blue dress standing outdoors at golden hour, radiating warmth, approachability, and calm — the therapist behind Nurturing the Sisterhood.

Hi, I’m Dr. Julie.

Washington-Based Therapist & Founder of Nurturing the Sisterhood

Whether you're navigating infertility, pregnancy, or the overwhelming transition into motherhood, you’ve found a safe place to land.

Nurturing the Sisterhood is a supportive and judgement-free space to talk about the parts of pregnancy and postpartum that aren’t openly discussed or acknowledged — especially the emotional weight that so many women carry alone.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker and perinatal mental health therapist with expert training in maternal mental health. Supporting women through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood isn’t just something I do — it’s the sole focus of this practice.

And I’m not just a therapist - I also bring lived experience to this work. I’m an infertility warrior, a mom to a preschooler, and a survivor of postpartum anxiety. My approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and deeply personal.

From my Bainbridge Island office and through virtual therapy for moms in Washington, I support women across Seattle, Bellevue, Kitsap County, Gig Harbor, and beyond.

If you’ve been looking for support, you’re in the right place.

Good-bye pregnancy anxiety, postpartum rage, daily overwhelm and the kind of mom burnout that makes everything feel like too much… it’s time to enjoy REAL motherhood.

I created Nurturing the Sisterhood to fill a gap I felt firsthand.

After my own experiences with infertility and postpartum anxiety, I understood how isolating and overwhelming this journey could be - and how hard it was to find a therapist who actually understood.

I work exclusively with women who are trying to conceive, preparing for birth, or adjusting to life as a new mom. This isn’t part of what I do - it’s the whole heart of my work. And I want you to know - You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here for you when you’re ready.

AT NURTURING THE SISTERHOOD, MOMS COME FIRST. BABIES ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Dr. Julie offers therapy for women navigating infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood — across every stage of the family-building journey.

  • If you're looking for support for anxiety after childbirth, you're not alone. Anxiety is one of the most common reasons women and new moms seek therapy.

Postpartum anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, restlessness, constant worry, or a sense that something terrible might happen. It’s more likely to surface if you’re healing from traumatic birth, navigating intrusive thoughts, or coping with the emotional weight of fertility treatment and anxiety during pregnancy.

As both a therapist and a postpartum anxiety survivor, I offer therapy for new moms facing anxiety, motherhood-related stress, and recovery after birth. You don’t have to go through this alone.

  • Postpartum depression (PPD) is more than the baby blues—it’s a serious experience that can cause exhaustion, irritability, difficulty bonding with your baby, insecurity, and feelings of hopelessness. Many new moms struggle with these symptoms and worry they aren’t doing their best as parents.

If you’re seeking therapy for postpartum depression, you might also experience intrusive thoughts, overwhelming guilt, or question your decision to have a baby—common feelings in postpartum mental health struggles. Therapy for postpartum depression can help you navigate these emotions and find healing.

As a therapist specializing in postpartum depression, anxiety, and perinatal mood disorders, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about and find solutions to these challenges.

Together, we’ll work on healing from postpartum depression symptoms, strengthening your bond with your baby, and building resilience during the postpartum period.

You don’t have to face postpartum depression alone; I’m here to help.

Hi! I’m Dr. Julie Franks - I provide Perinatal Mental Health Therapy in Washington.

BUT YOU CAN JUST CALL ME DR. JULIE

I’m a perinatal mental health therapist, which means I specialize in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum depression (PPD), postpartum anxiety (PPA), and the often-invisible mental load of motherhood.

Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to downplay what you’re feeling or pretend everything’s fine. We talk honestly about pregnancy and motherhood — especially the parts that feel heavy, overwhelming, or just not what you expected.

And I’m not just a therapist — I’m also a mom. I’ve felt the pressure, the mental noise, the exhaustion. As a postpartum anxiety survivor who had a tough start to motherhood, I understand how deeply these experiences can impact your identity and your relationships.

My work is about helping moms reconnect with what matters most — beyond the noise of comparison, perfectionism, and invisible expectations.

I offer virtual therapy for moms across Washington State, including Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Kitsap County, and anywhere you call home.

All sessions are online — and babies are always welcome. No need to get dressed up, find a sitter, or mask how you’re doing. Just come as you are.

If you're wondering whether perinatal mental health therapy could help, let’s talk. You don’t have to go through this alone.

Ways We Can Work Together:

You don’t have to figure this season out alone. Whether you’re ready to talk in therapy, join a support group, or explore tools for postpartum and motherhood — these options are here to meet you where you are.
